Laboratory Technologist (Clinical Laboratory)

About the role

The Laboratory Technologist will perform a wide range of clinical tests in a hospital laboratory setting, ensuring compliance with international and local quality standards. This position works under the supervision of senior laboratory staff and contributes to accurate patient diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct biological, haematological, chemical, and physical analyses on samples such as blood, urine, sputum, water and tissue.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate sophisticated laboratory instruments, including pH meters, spectrophotometers, electrophoresis and chromatography apparatuses, immunoassay analysers, cell counters, analytical balances and autoclaves.
• Prepare chemical reagents and biological media, following aseptic techniques and accurate standardisation procedures.
• Perform quality control (QC) and quality improvement (QI) activities, recognizing out‑of‑control values and taking corrective actions.
• Document results, maintain laboratory information system records, and ensure all work meets ISO 15189:2022, JCI and local regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Relevant laboratory science qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work under supervision while adhering to strict quality and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting.
