Landscape Engineer (Construction Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Landscape Engineer (Construction Supervision) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role oversees landscape construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards and project timelines, and acts as a key liaison between design teams, contractors and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all landscape construction activities on-site, in line with approved designs, specifications and local UAE building codes and regulations
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments against design standards and contractual requirements
• Manage project schedules, timelines and resource allocation
• Analyze site conditions, identify challenges and propose practical solutions, including design modifications
• Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, design teams and clients, and resolve issues promptly
• Monitor and control project budgets, track expenses and implement cost-saving measures
• Maintain project documentation such as daily reports, inspection records, change orders and as-built drawings
• Lead and mentor on-site teams, ensuring safety protocols and environmental standards are followed
• Coordinate with authorities so installations comply with local environmental and sustainability requirements
• Evaluate material quality and specifications on delivery, and prepare progress reports and presentations for stakeholders

Required profile

• Proven experience in landscape construction supervision and site management (minimum 7+ years)
• Demonstrated project management skills, able to manage multiple projects at once
• Experience on landscape projects in the Middle East or GCC region preferred

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, materials and construction methods
• Proficiency in CAD software, especially AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Knowledge of landscape specifications, irrigation systems and hardscape installation
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations and local environmental standards
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and green building standards
