Landscape Inspector

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Landscape Inspector to join its growing team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inspector ensures that landscape installations meet quality standards, specifications and regulatory requirements, working alongside a collaborative team on landscaping and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily field inspections of landscape installations and keep accurate inspection records
• Identify and classify plants according to established grades and standards, and monitor conformance to quality, performance, specification and code requirements
• Analyze soil conditions and recommend soil amendments for optimal plant growth
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of landscape projects
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic documentation, findings and recommendations for corrective action
• Take part in pre-construction meetings to review landscape plans and in punch lists, testing and commissioning
• Assist in developing and implementing maintenance plans for new landscapes
• Track quality assurance progress and give input to turnover documentation for areas and equipment
• Read and interpret contract documents and collaborate with project teams to resolve landscaping challenges

Required profile

• At least 6 years of relevant landscape inspection or landscaping experience, or equivalent experience and education
• Relevant landscaping or horticulture certifications
• Knowledge of UAE landscaping regulations, standards and best practices
• Experience with desert landscaping and irrigation system installation
• Ability to read and interpret landscape design plans and contract documents

Required skills

• Soil analysis and amendment recommendations
• Stormwater management and erosion control knowledge
• Familiarity with landscape installation methods and techniques
• Proficiency in photography and digital documentation for inspection records
• Experience developing and implementing landscape maintenance plans
