Lead Construction Engineer - Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

Penspen is urgently looking for a Lead Construction Engineer for a prestigious PMC project in the UAE. The role leads offshore construction teams and oversees the installation, hookup and commissioning of offshore facilities such as platforms, pipelines and subsea structures. It is a full-time fixed-term position based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage offshore construction teams, including engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Oversee the installation, hookup and commissioning of offshore facilities such as platforms, pipelines and subsea structures.
• Ensure construction activities align with project schedules, budgets and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve construction challenges and enforce strict HSE standards during offshore operations.
• Review and approve construction drawings, procedures and method statements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for high-risk activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers and client representatives, and run daily briefings, progress reviews and reporting.
• Develop hookup strategies and offshore construction plans, and monitor progress to address delays.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Piping or related field).
• Minimum 15 years of overall experience, including 5 years of extensive offshore oil and gas construction experience in an EPC environment.
• Strong experience in offshore fabrication of wellhead towers, subsea cables, brownfield work, piping erection, mechanical equipment installation and jacket topside construction.
• PMC experience preferred; previous experience on ADNOC offshore projects in a similar role is an added advantage.
