Lead, Cyber Security IoT

About the role

TAQA Distribution, a subsidiary of TAQA Group that distributes electricity and water across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, is hiring a Lead, Cyber Security IoT. You will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls across its IoT environments, covering smart meters, AMI, IoT platforms, field communication networks and the interfaces between IoT, OT and enterprise IT. The role acts as the cybersecurity functional authority for IoT, ensuring alignment with security frameworks, regulatory requirements and critical infrastructure protection standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve cybersecurity controls for smart meters, AMI, connected sensors, IoT gateways and field communication networks
• Apply security-by-design principles across IoT architecture, device onboarding, connectivity, integration and operations
• Conduct cybersecurity assurance, control assessments, compliance monitoring and validation
• Assess and mitigate risks, lead vulnerability assessments and remediation, and secure integrations with ERP, GIS, EAM and cloud platforms
• Define secure data flows, network segmentation, communication protocols and controls at the IoT/OT/IT boundaries, including firewalls, secure zones and device authentication and access control
• Collaborate with Security Operations teams on threat monitoring, incident detection, investigation, response and recovery
• Review vendor solutions and designs, and develop cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures and assessment reports
• Support security risk assessments, audits, remediation tracking and regulatory compliance reporting, and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience (9 years preferred); critical requirement is experience in power and utilities or comparable critical infrastructure
• Hands-on cybersecurity specialist, not a project manager focused mainly on coordination and reporting
