Lead Offshore Construction Engineer

About the role

The Lead Offshore Construction Engineer will oversee multiple offshore construction projects, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery while coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors. Reporting to the Offshore Construction Manager, the role spans start‑up, execution, and close‑out phases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Offshore Construction Manager in preparing project deliverables, execution plans, schedules and techno‑commercial analyses.
• Develop construction aids such as load registers, marine spread requirements and pipe‑coating scopes, and monitor their progress.
• Review engineering documents from a constructability perspective and prepare detailed scopes, schedules and interface documents for offshore subcontracted works.
• Coordinate subcontractor mobilisation, monitor performance, and act as the focal point for technical and commercial evaluations.
• Lead daily offshore operations, attend progress meetings, conduct HSE audits and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare risk assessment registers, job cards, micro‑schedules and mobilisation plans for hook‑up and shutdown activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Naval Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of offshore construction experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong commercial, financial and contractual awareness with proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
