Lead Offshore Structural Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Lead Offshore Structural Engineer to drive the delivery of structural engineering for fixed offshore assets across concept, FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and brownfield modification phases. The role involves on‑site surveys, assessments and technical assurance for ADNOC offshore facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage discipline execution plans, design basis, deliverable registers and engineering work‑hour estimates.
• Lead structural engineering deliverables for platforms, jackets, topsides, bridges, flare structures and brownfield modifications.
• Define analysis approaches, review assumptions, verify results and approve calculations, reports, specifications and drawings.
• Plan and support offshore/site visits for data collection, condition assessment and as‑built verification.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs including metocean, geotechnical, weight‑control, fabrication and installation.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of oil & gas structural engineering experience, including 10 years on fixed offshore structures and 5 years in a lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree in Structural or Offshore Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, PMC, construction support and brownfield modification phases.
• Preferable experience with ADNOC offshore or comparable major operator brownfield projects.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of fixed offshore structural systems and integrity principles.
• Advanced proficiency in SACS for offshore structural modelling and analysis.
• Familiarity with ADNOC Offshore specifications, API RP 2A‑WSD/LRFD, ISO 19900/19901/19902, AISC 360, AWS D1.1 and relevant DNV practices.
• Understanding of offshore analysis types: in‑place, pre‑service, transportation, load‑out, lifting, fatigue, seismic, dynamic response, pushover/RSR, accidental load, pile/foundation.
