Lead/Principal Forward Deployed Engineer – Data 360

About the role

Salesforce is hiring Lead/Principal Forward Deployed Engineers for Data 360, its real‑time data engine. You will work hands‑on in enterprise customer environments, building and deploying data pipelines, identity resolution, and AI integration layers.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and develop directly in customer sandboxes and production using Data 360 configuration, SQL, Apex, Flow, Python, REST Query API, Interaction SDK, Salesforce DX, CLI, Git and related tooling.
• Engineer ingestion, harmonization, and identity resolution pipelines for batch and streaming sources, optimizing latency and cost.
• Design and maintain AI data integration layers such as RAG, vector databases, search indexes and knowledge bases.
• Implement secure, scalable data integration patterns (OAuth, SAML, event‑driven architectures) and agent communication protocols like MCP.
• Debug ingestion failures, schema drift, identity anomalies and performance issues using logs and query evidence.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software or data engineering experience with production data solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience implementing Salesforce Data 360 or comparable enterprise data platforms.
• Experience building data pipelines on platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka or cloud object storage.
• Proven ability to design retrieval systems for AI (vector DBs, search indexes, embedding pipelines).
