Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

De Montfort University Dubai is looking for academically qualified and experienced individuals to join the Faculty of Technology, Art and Culture as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching, supporting curriculum development and contributing to research in an international campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, labs and workshops across undergraduate (and potentially postgraduate) Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Teach core modules such as Engineering Vibrations, Engineering Dynamics and Control, Finite Element Analysis, Additive Manufacturing, Sustainable Manufacturing and Engineering Materials.
• Design and update module content to reflect industry developments, accreditation standards and sustainability goals.
• Prepare, administer and mark assessments, provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students.
• Supervise undergraduate projects and, where appropriate, contribute to postgraduate supervision.
• Engage in scholarly activity, applied research and knowledge‑exchange activities aligned with mechanical engineering and sustainability themes.
• Participate in programme development, quality assurance, accreditation (e.g., IMechE) and academic committees.

Required profile

• Relevant PhD or equivalent academic qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at university level, preferably in an international setting.
• Strong record of research or professional practice in mechanical engineering, sustainability or related areas.
• Ability to adopt innovative, inclusive and student‑centred teaching approaches.
