About the role
The Legal Advisor will provide expert guidance on complex international law matters, supporting decision‑making across the Ministry. The role involves close interaction with senior stakeholders and requires the ability to translate legal norms into practical policy advice.
Key responsibilities
- Handle multi‑disciplinary, highly complex legal issues relating to international law.
- Research, draft and deliver legal advice to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and review analytical reports for various departments.
- Brief and provide oral counsel to senior officials and other stakeholders.
Required profile
- Law degree; an advanced degree in international law is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in international law, advising governments or in a multilateral setting.
- Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge strongly preferred.
Required skills
- Strong ability to apply international legal norms to factual situations and produce timely recommendations.
- Excellent legal analysis and writing, producing concise reports for non‑legal decision makers.
- Effective presentation and briefing skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
