About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel will lead the company's legal affairs, providing expert advice, risk mitigation, and oversight of contractual matters across oil & gas, construction, and drilling projects. This role ensures compliance with UAE law, ADNOC regulations, and international legal standards.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all legal activities within the company.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements, ensuring legal compliance.
- Provide preventive and curative legal advice to senior management, procurement, and project teams.
- Manage external counsel for litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
- Assess contractor claims, advise on settlements, and prepare arbitration submissions.
- Guide and mentor junior legal staff.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise on corporate governance policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of legal experience in petroleum, major industrial, or related sectors.
- Proven expertise in contract law, international law, and dispute resolution.
- Strong understanding of UAE, ADNOC, and client asset integrity codes.
