About the role
The Legal Advisor will provide expert guidance on complex international law matters, supporting various ministries and departments within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of multilateral legal frameworks and the ability to translate legal analysis into actionable advice for non‑legal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Handle multidisciplinary, highly complex legal issues related to international law.
- Research and draft legal advice for internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and review reports for other departments within the ministry.
- Brief and provide oral advice to stakeholders on legal matters.
Required profile
- Law degree; an advanced degree in international law is preferred.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in international law, advising governments or working in a multilateral context.
- Strong analytical and writing abilities to produce concise reports for decision‑makers without a legal background.
- Ability to integrate legal advice into political and policy discussions.
- Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Required skills
- Apply international legal norms to factual situations and deliver timely recommendations.
- Prepare clear, concise analytical reports.
- Deliver presentations and briefings tailored to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate effectively within a team and mentor junior lawyers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge strongly preferred.
