Legal Counsel, Capital Markets

About the role

Join the Capital Markets Legal team in Dubai to provide expert legal advice on capital markets products and multi‑jurisdictional transactions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure compliance and support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal counsel on capital markets products, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance.
• Lead complex, multi‑jurisdictional transactions, coordinating regional legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel.
• Develop and standardise legal documentation and templates for capital markets products.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
• Deliver training and communication to enhance legal and regulatory understanding across teams.
• Manage external counsel engagements, overseeing scope, quality, cost and matter management.

Required profile

• Fully qualified solicitor/attorney/barrister with post‑qualification experience in debt capital markets.
• Experience in both private practice and in‑house roles handling complex capital markets transactions.
• Proven track record in the banking or financial services sector, with strong risk management and compliance knowledge.
• Excellent judgement, ethical standards and ability to influence senior business leaders.

• Expertise in capital markets legal frameworks, especially debt capital markets.
• Strong collaboration skills across legal, business and functional teams.
• Ability to manage legal and regulatory risk and implement robust governance.
