Legal Counsel

About the role

Alpago Group is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to support its Design & Build, Manufacturing and related business units. The role will manage legal risk, advise on contracts and ensure compliance with UAE laws while enabling commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on Design & Build contracts, sub‑contracts, consultancy, supply agreements, NDAs and MOUs.
• Provide legal advice to management, commercial, project and procurement teams on contractual rights, obligations and risk exposure.
• Support tendering activities by reviewing contractual terms, risk allocations and deviations.
• Advise on claims, variations, disputes and potential litigation; coordinate with external counsel when required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Assist corporate governance matters such as resolutions, powers of attorney and internal policies.
• Handle regulatory matters, licensing and authority requirements where applicable.
• Maintain a contract database and ensure proper legal documentation and record‑keeping.
• Monitor legal developments in construction, employment and commercial law and advise the business accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
• 6–10 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in construction, engineering, real estate or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UAE law; GCC experience is a plus.
• Experience with Design & Build, construction contracts or manufacturing operations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
