Legal & Regulatory Advisory Specialist

About the role

Namus Legal Services is looking for a Legal & Regulatory Advisory Specialist to support clients in regulated financial sectors such as fintech, payments, virtual assets, digital banking and broader financial services. The role involves close collaboration with senior management and regulators across the UAE and international jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review regulatory applications, licensing documentation and submissions for regulated entities.
• Draft and review legal agreements, policies, procedures, governance documents and regulatory correspondence.
• Support clients in meeting AML/CFT, sanctions, data protection and corporate governance obligations.
• Analyse business plans, financial models, operational frameworks and risk assessments from a regulatory perspective.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research on virtual assets, payments, fintech and banking.
• Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, remediation projects and responses to enquiries.
• Produce client memoranda, legal opinions, briefing papers and advisory reports.
• Participate in meetings with clients, regulators, financial institutions and external advisers.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide practical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, presentations and client onboarding.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Law, Compliance, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in a law firm, regulatory consultancy, financial institution, fintech company or compliance advisory practice.
• Strong understanding of regulated financial services environments and familiarity with VARA, ADGM, DFSA, FSRA, Central Bank regulations.
• Working knowledge of AML/CFT requirements, sanctions compliance, corporate governance and risk management principles.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Fluent English required; Arabic is an advantage.
