Leisure Sales Manager

About the role

Grand Mercure Dubai City, a 5-star Accor hotel with 361 rooms, is looking for a Leisure Sales Manager. The role is responsible for proactively generating new business, managing new and existing accounts and working with the sales team to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals. It covers account management, rate and contract negotiation, and customer relationship building.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the hotel's sales efforts with key leisure market accounts and aim to obtain up to 50-75 new key prospects each week.
• Build the client base through outside sales calls, sales blitzes, cold calling, prospecting, direct mail, networking and referrals.
• Manage day-to-day customer support for key agency accounts and maintain independent prospecting and booking.
• Pursue transient business from free-market and purchased lead sources, analyse market data and recommend targeted sales and marketing actions.
• Quote and negotiate prices, confirm reservations by letter, draw up contracts and close transactions.
• Follow up with other hotel departments after closing to ensure superior guest service.
• Enter market intelligence into the Sales Information Management System and represent the hotel at trade shows and business events.
• Achieve the agreed room nights and revenue targets.

Required profile

• At least three years of sales experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of legal contract language.
• Proven team leader with a track record of living the company's values.

Required skills

• Proficient use of computer systems such as Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Thorough knowledge of the CRS and GDS systems.
• Up-to-date product knowledge, including rate structures and promotional offers.
