Lifeguard

About the role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is hiring a full-time, non-management lifeguard in Dubai. The role covers the safety and service of the swimming area, including rescue, guest assistance and pool maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Use appropriate rescue techniques when swimmers need help and observe the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unsafe activities and struggling swimmers
• Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility and warn guests who cannot safely take part in an activity
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive
• Keep a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests
• Obtain, fold and stack towels according to company procedures, and wash, mop and clean the pool deck
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, and follow company policies while keeping proprietary information confidential
• Welcome guests, ensure a clean and professional appearance, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally
• Support co-workers, comply with quality assurance standards, and perform other reasonable duties as requested

Required profile

• CPR certification and first aid certification
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• No related or supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, move over uneven or slippery surfaces, and lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted
