Line Mechanic

About the role

Nestle Middle East Manufacturing LLC in Dubai is looking for a Line Mechanic. The role is responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance on plant equipment so that breakdowns are avoided and planned maintenance and shutdowns are kept to a minimum, while always protecting product and people safety. It also involves improving machines to keep them in good condition and boost performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Carry out routine inspections and condition monitoring to ensure machine reliability.
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures and maintenance schedules.
• Help production teams resolve equipment failures and chronic technical issues.
• Take part in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (BDA and GSTD).
• Complete work orders, maintenance reports and records in the Asset & Maintenance Management (AMM) system.
• Support machine installations, modifications, overhauls and continuous improvement projects.
• Work safely with contractors and suppliers, and support TPM, PM Pillar, NCE and reliability initiatives.
• Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices, and comply with food safety, quality, hygiene, environmental and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food-processing environment.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, power transmission, pneumatics, hand tools and fabrication work.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, willingness to work shifts and respond to breakdowns, and ability to use MS Office.
