Machine Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Machine Maintenance Worker supports the inspection, upkeep, adjustment, and repair of machinery and production equipment in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, and workshop settings. The role ensures machines run safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime, working closely with maintenance technicians and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, or malfunction.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and basic repairs on moving parts, bearings, gears, chains, belts, shafts, motors, and pumps.
• Assist technicians with mechanical servicing, alignment, adjustment, and calibration.
• Monitor equipment during operation and report unusual noises, vibrations, overheating, or performance issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to schedules and record all activities.
• Support troubleshooting of breakdowns and mechanical faults using hand and power tools.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized condition.
• Follow lockout/tagout, isolation procedures, and safety guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE.
• Assist with installing, moving, assembling, and dismantling machinery as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in machine maintenance, mechanical work, or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• Physically fit to lift, bend, and work in various positions.
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and ability to work in an industrial workshop.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Use of measuring instruments for mechanical inspection.
• Basic knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, gears, and pumps.
• Understanding of lockout/tagout and machine isolation procedures.
• Ability to identify simple mechanical faults and perform preventive maintenance.
