Manager - AI Solutions Quality Assurance

About the role

The role leads the AI Solutions Quality Assurance function within the Artificial Intelligence & Data Science department, ensuring all AI solutions meet quality, governance and compliance standards throughout their lifecycle. It oversees AI quality frameworks, risk-based assessment protocols and control gates that protect fairness, explainability, security and reliability, and drives continuous improvement in model validation, post-deployment monitoring and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and maintain AI quality assurance frameworks, policies, technical standards and engineering specifications aligned with approved requirements, regulatory mandates and international best practices.
• Define and enforce risk-based requirements covering traceability, explainability, fairness, privacy, security, safety and reliability.
• Establish quality standards and control gates across the AI model lifecycle, from design and development through deployment and retirement.
• Oversee AI model quality assurance frameworks, including validation methods, acceptance thresholds, evidence requirements and independent review roles.
• Develop and review AI governance and ethics policies in line with the UAE National AI Strategy, Dubai Government directives and institutional standards.
• Monitor compliance by internal teams, implementation partners and service providers, track corrective actions and escalate non-compliance to senior leadership.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external regulators on compliance and audit requirements, and deliver quality awareness programs and toolkits.
• Conduct pre-launch technical verification, fairness reviews and material change assessments, and enforce UAT guidelines with the Development and Operations Section.
• Define post-launch performance requirements, model drift detection thresholds, change governance and model deactivation criteria, and exercise audit rights over partners.
• Review technical designs from a quality and compliance perspective, develop UX/UI guidelines for AI solutions, run continuous improvement plans and scan emerging AI QA methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience with a Master's degree (14+ years with a Bachelor's).
• Demonstrated expertise in AI model lifecycle management, quality assurance frameworks and AI governance standards.
• Proven ability to define and enforce technical quality standards, control gates and compliance protocols.

The role is primarily office-based, with regular interaction with cross-functional teams, review boards and external partners, both virtually and in person.
