Manager, Cards Reconciliations

About the role

This role executes the operational activities of the cards reconciliations section, managing risk effectively and delivering service to internal clients according to agreed SLAs. It covers supervision of the team, exception handling, reporting and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide fast, disruption-free service to customers using agreed non-BAU and escalation matrices, and submit reports to the MIS team on time.
• Authorize manually matched items with value date differences and inform the concerned departments; verify monthly reconciliation reports and forward them to the line manager.
• Submit dashboard reporting across iTRAC case books and intelliMATCH accounts, archive reconciliation records and miscellaneous reports, and track daily issues and operational risk through tick lists, accounts lists and traffic-light reporting.
• Control unapplied credits, unpresented and unclaimed accounts, and manage the exception management interface where cases are escalated by system-defined rules during BAU periods.
• Provide project management support for automation processes and coordinate with ITD on system administrative tasks.
• Supervise the team: guide and train juniors, share knowledge, promote organisational values and ethics, and implement policies, systems and procedures for the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, prepare accurate statements and reports, and assist clients in developing reconciliation services.
• Identify and report errors or missed turnaround times, highlight high-risk transactions, update Operations Risk on non-reconciling items, and escalate risk-related issues to the AVP.
• Ensure all items exceeding non-BAU tolerance levels are escalated correctly, keep accounts balanced, maintain the account list and SLAs, and work with subordinates to resolve outstanding items.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Economics, Commerce and Finance or a related discipline.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in the banking sector, including at least 5 years in similar positions with progressively increasing managerial responsibility in the Core Processing function.
