Manager – Shari’a Audit

About the role

The Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank is seeking a qualified Manager – Shari’a Audit to lead internal Shari’a audit assignments across the organization. This position is open to UAE nationals and will be based in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with Shari’a principles and mitigating non‑Shari’a risk.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute internal Shari’a audits in line with the bank’s risk‑based audit approach.
• Develop and update Shari’a audit programmes, incorporating AAOIFI standards and resolutions of the Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee.
• Lead high, medium and low‑risk audit assignments, preparing risk‑based audit plans and checklists.
• Coordinate with the Shari’a IT Project team to enhance audit‑related systems and tools.
• Provide recommendations on policies and controls to ensure full compliance with Shari’a rulings.
• Report audit findings to senior management and the Shari’a Supervisory Committee.

Required profile

• UAE national.
• Minimum of one month of relevant audit experience.
• Familiarity with Institute of Internal Auditors standards and AAOIFI guidelines.
