Manufacturing E‑Motor Process Engineer

About the role

PAC is supporting a client launching an electric drive unit manufacturing line in Saudi Arabia. The senior Process Engineer will own a specific process area – such as stator, rotor, motor assembly, gearbox or inverter – and drive it from equipment installation through full‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Define process flow, cycle‑time allocation, control plans, PFMEA and work instructions for the assigned perimeter.
• Lead equipment commissioning, SAT, DOE activities and qualification runs to establish parameter windows.
• Deliver APQP and PPAP documentation, balance stations to meet takt time and improve OEE.
• Drive ramp‑up by analysing scrap, rework and downtime, creating a prioritized improvement backlog.
• Act as first‑line technical escalation point, applying 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa and Shainin problem‑solving methods.
• Design and validate error‑proofing (poka‑yoke), SPC monitoring and traceability systems.
• Support customer and supplier interfaces, JIT/JIS delivery requirements and safety/EHS activities.

Required profile

• MSc or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of hands‑on process engineering experience in high‑volume automotive powertrain or electric motor manufacturing.
• Proven experience with takt‑based production, line balancing, OEE and downtime reduction.
• Strong knowledge of automotive quality methodologies (PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D).
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Saudi Arabia for the project duration (Sept 2026 – Dec 2027).

Required skills

• Statistical tools: SPC, DOE, MSA/Gage R&R, capability analysis (Minitab, JMP, Python or R).
• Process documentation: control plans, work instructions, change control.
• Quality systems: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, root‑cause analysis.
• MES/SCADA data handling, traceability and test database integration.
• Technical troubleshooting and error‑proofing (poka‑yoke, torque monitoring).
