Mechanical Design Engineer (Marine/Dredging)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join Dredge Yard’s engineering team, focusing on the design and development of dredging components and systems for our fleet of dredgers. The role involves creating 3‑D models, performing stability calculations, and supporting vessel‑level engineering such as pontoon design and overall dredger stability.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and dredging components for marine vessels.
• Develop 3‑D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software, preferably Inventor.
• Perform stability calculations and contribute to overall vessel design.
• Support pontoon and marine system layout design.
• Ensure designs comply with classification society rules and marine standards (ABS, DNV, BV, IRS).
• Identify and resolve design issues, providing support to manufacturing and installation teams.
• Stay current with industry trends, classification regulations, and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in marine, shipbuilding, or dredging projects.
• Proven experience with stability calculations and vessel design.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to be based in the United Arab Emirates.

Required skills
