Mechanical Engineer - Remote ROV Maintenance

About the role

Takreer, the logistics arm of ADNOC Group, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer focused on remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). The role supervises the installation, maintenance, repair and testing of mechanical stationary and rotating equipment in the TRC facility, including monitoring work execution against statutory and company regulations and the Takreer HSE manual.

Key responsibilities

• Maintenance: prepare predictive, preventive, modification and major maintenance plans, write equipment checklists, estimate manpower and skills, review shutdown job lists and contract scopes, and supervise execution.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose chronic failures, carry out fault finding and repair, and advise on major repairs and spares.
• Emergency response: coordinate contracted craftsmen with operations, arrange shutdowns and permits to work, and liaise with the pilot plant operations section and planning engineer.
• New projects and modifications: assist with mechanical design and specification, review equipment bids, liaise with manufacturers during installation and commissioning, and follow up on testing and inspection.
• Materials and equipment: review annual requirements, advise on stock levels, prepare purchase requisitions, bid evaluations and acceptance certificates.
• Contractors: supervise field work, assess contractor performance and clear invoices for payment.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6 years' experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing major rotating and mechanical equipment in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plant environments.
• Good written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is preferable.

Required skills

• Good computer literacy.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical equipment.
