Mechanical Engineer – Static

About the role

Responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and quality of Mechanical Engineering activities related to static equipment, complying with international codes, standards, and company procedures. The role involves independent execution of engineering tasks, supporting project delivery, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute engineering tasks, review designs, drawings, 3D models and technical documentation.
• Prepare mechanical datasheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and perform feasibility studies and detailed calculations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors, support procurement activities and manage budgets and resource planning.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers, report progress and technical challenges to lead engineers and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements and contribute to safe working methods.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in the oil & gas upstream/downstream sector.
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven expertise in static equipment engineering, pressure vessel design and familiarity with international codes (ASME, TEMA, PD5500, API).
• Experience reviewing vendor offers, preparing technical bid evaluations and participating in supplier tender processes.

• Pv‑Elite, Compress, TANK pressure‑vessel design software.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• ASME Section VIII Division 1 & 2, TEMA, PD5500, API 650, API 660, API 661.
• Layout development and skid‑based design.
• Material knowledge: carbon steel, low‑temperature carbon steel, stainless steel, clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC.
