Mechanical Engineering Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Mechanical Engineering Teacher to deliver vocational engineering courses to Emirati students at the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute. The role reports to the Vice Principal Academic and focuses on building a solid technical foundation and professional language skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess mechanical engineering modules for post‑secondary students.
• Develop teaching materials, practical labs and assessment tools aligned with curriculum standards.
• Maintain accurate student records and course documentation.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to continuously improve curriculum, teaching and assessment strategies.
• Liaise with student counselors and communicate student progress to management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of post‑secondary teaching experience, preferably in vocational or vocational‑training environments.
• At least 3 years of industry experience as a maintenance engineer or similar, preferably in oil & gas or related sectors.
• MSc in Engineering or Education and a recognized teaching qualification.
• BSc (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Fluent written and spoken English; IELTS score of 7 for non‑native speakers.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Proficiency with CAD and other engineering software.
• Expertise in at least three of the following: machine design & vibrations, mechanical control systems, production engineering, thermo‑power engineering, air‑conditioning and refrigeration, industrial maintenance, electrical engineering topics.
• Quality assurance knowledge.
