Mechanical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector with at least five years of experience to ensure that all mechanical works are executed in line with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements. The role involves close coordination with multidisciplinary teams on a variety of projects delivered by a well‑established engineering consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical installations including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, pumps, water supply and related equipment.
• Verify compliance with shop drawings, material submittals, specifications and approved method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities on‑site, review inspection requests and issue non‑conformance reports.
• Witness and document testing and commissioning activities such as pressure testing, flushing, balancing and functional testing.
• Maintain daily inspection records, checklists, photographs and prepare site reports.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural and electrical disciplines to resolve interface issues.
• Report progress, delays, technical issues and risks to the Resident Engineer.
• Assist in snagging, handover and final inspection activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years (36 months) of experience in mechanical inspection on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of international standards, local authority requirements and health‑safety regulations.
• Ability to produce clear inspection reports, non‑conformance documentation and follow‑up corrective actions.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
