Mechanical Inspector

About the role

The Mechanical Inspector will carry out thorough inspections of scaffolding and related mechanical structures to ensure compliance with international codes, EIAC requirements and Bureau Veritas procedures. The role involves preparing inspection reports, certificates and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections against relevant standards and EIAC requirements and issue reports/certificates.
• Maintain current knowledge of internal quality requirements and technical procedures.
• Make inspection‑based decisions using technical data and ensure equipment calibration is up to date.
• Follow Bureau Veritas quality and technical procedures throughout the inspection process.
• Verify that inspections adhere to federal legal and quality standards.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer or Diploma Engineer – Mechanical.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in scaffolding engineering (or 2 years with a BE degree).

Required skills

• Risk assessment for scaffolding projects.
• Knowledge of international scaffolding codes (BS EN 12811‑1/2/3, BS EN 74‑1/2/3, BS 5975).
• Familiarity with EIAC requirements and TG20 guidance.
• Expertise in mobile tower, fixed scaffold, stair‑case and slab‑soffit systems.
