Mechanical Inspector – Rotating Equipment (UAE)

About the role

The Mechanical Inspector will oversee the installation and commissioning of rotating equipment for client projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety, quality and technical standards throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Witness and monitor contractor activities, inspections and tests on rotating equipment in line with approved ITPs and method statements.
• Verify that contractors use up‑to‑date standards, specifications, procedures and drawings.
• Ensure all testing and measuring devices are calibrated according to relevant specifications.
• Participate in receiving inspections and attend site acceptance tests (SAT) for rotating equipment.
• Review contractor quality records, raise punch items and follow up non‑conformance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• API SIRE or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 10 years of on‑site inspection experience for rotating equipment installations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• API RP 686 knowledge.
• Rotating equipment installation codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• MS Office – Word and Excel.
