Mechanical Integration Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Integration Engineer to join our R&D team. You will bridge airframe, propulsion, avionics, payload and launch/recovery systems, working from concept through prototype build to serial production.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in conceptual design studies, contributing to system‑level architecture and trade‑off analyses.
• Integrate airframe, propulsion, avionics, payload and launch/recovery subsystems into a coherent, manufacturable vehicle design.
• Define mounting interfaces, space allocation, cable routing and accessibility to support maintenance throughout the UAV lifecycle.
• Identify integration risks early and drive resolution with subsystem owners.
• Support hands‑on prototype assembly, resolve fit/form issues and produce manufacturing‑ready part and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply‑chain teams to ensure designs are producible and cost‑effective.
• Develop validation and test plans, support physical testing and author technical reports for design reviews.

Required profile

• 0–3 years of experience in mechanical design, systems integration or product development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline).
• Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams and managing competing priorities.
• Exposure to aerospace, automotive or complex electromechanical product development is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, configurations and drawing environments).
• Competence in producing 2D production drawings to GD&T and ASME/ISO standards.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM data‑management systems.
• Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes (lay‑up, bonding, co‑cure).
• Experience with additive manufacturing for prototyping or end‑use parts.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Basic structural analysis using FEA tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Awareness of aerospace certification and qualification requirements.
