Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of plant equipment through preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance activities. The role supports production, quality and safety objectives by keeping machinery in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, replace worn or damaged parts and conduct test runs.
• Execute major overhauls, verify clearances and determine part usage or replacement.
• Diagnose complex mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect and test completed work to confirm efficient performance.
• Prepare detailed daily activity reports covering fault causes, work performed, materials, labour and time.
• Identify and procure spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Carry out new installations, modifications and testing according to plans and supervisor instructions.
• Suggest improvements, assist senior staff with system upgrades and maintain accurate records, drawings and method statements.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant mechanical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
