Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of safety‑critical and non‑safety plant systems at the Barakah facility. The role involves both planned and corrective maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment to ensure continuous, safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, HVAC, chillers, heat exchangers, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG), diesel generators, cranes, hoists, and related plant components.
• Execute planned and corrective maintenance tasks in accordance with procedures for Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment.
• Prepare and stage work activities, including procurement of spare parts and special tools.
• Attend pre‑ and post‑job briefings and supervise maintenance teams to ensure compliance with standards.
• Document equipment history and update material master data in the material management system.
• Conduct periodic surveillance tests to verify system performance and identify deficiencies.
• Follow the Maintenance Code of Conduct to uphold safety and reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and resolve issues promptly.
• Support staff training, qualification programs, and outage/emergency response activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to follow strict maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.
• Experience working in a high‑reliability industrial environment, preferably nuclear or power generation.
• Capability to coordinate with procurement and material management functions.
• Willingness to participate in training feedback and emergency response support.
