Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring production, quality and safety standards are met. The role involves hands‑on work in an industrial environment, supporting continuous equipment availability.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventive mechanical maintenance, replace worn parts and conduct test runs.
• Perform major equipment overhauls, check clearances and determine part usage or replacement.
• Diagnose complex faults and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect and test completed work to verify efficient performance.
• Prepare detailed daily activity reports covering fault cause, work performed, materials, labour and time.
• Identify and procure spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Execute new installations, modifications and testing of equipment according to plans and supervisor instructions.
• Update maintenance records, drawings and documentation, and contribute to method statements and near‑miss reports.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant mechanical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Ability to work according to approved financial budgets and follow organizational reporting lines.
