Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for executing scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on static and mobile mechanical systems at aviation fuel depots. The role ensures all equipment operates safely and efficiently in accordance with aviation standards and manufacturer recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on aviation fueling systems, pumps, compressors, generators, meter calibrations, and related mechanical equipment.
• Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs following safety procedures and without direct supervision.
• Test systems after maintenance to confirm satisfactory operation.
• Diagnose faults using mechanical diagrams and equipment manuals, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety equipment and adhere to hazardous‑area safety checks, including Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) compliance.
• Visit all airport depots to conduct periodic inspections, record findings, and prepare requisitions for parts.
• Update computer‑based maintenance and inventory management systems with accurate work records.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring equipment is returned to service quickly.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant mechanical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an aviation or fuel‑depot environment.
• Ability to work 24 × 7 shift cycles and travel between depots.
