Medical Laboratory Technologist - Level 1

About the role

Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi is hiring one Medical Laboratory Technologist (Level 1) to perform routine laboratory tests in line with professional and regulatory standards and guidelines. The position is advertised by the recruiter Siva Krishna Bonda (reference 74631).

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine tests according to professional standards and guidelines.
• Monitor sample management, including sorting and allocation based on testing requirements.
• Process clinical chemistry, immunology and serology, autoimmune, haematology, coagulation, blood transfusion and clinical microscopy tests and related laboratory functions.
• Analyse body fluids, blood specimens, urine and spinal fluid, and verify the accuracy of results.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at risk mitigation, compliance governance and patient safety.
• Help guide training and health and safety initiatives where needed.
• Operate, calibrate and monitor standard laboratory equipment such as analysers, and maintain temperature logs.

Required profile

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of full-time experience as a medical laboratory technologist in clinical chemistry.

Required skills

• Maintaining instrumentation according to manufacturer guidelines and developing standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of real-time multiplex PCR and close molecular systems.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to carry out quality control checks and troubleshoot instruments.
• Laboratory information systems and reporting.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
