Quality and Patient Safety Officer

About the role

Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi is recruiting a Quality and Patient Safety Officer. The role supports and guides quality and patient safety initiatives for the business unit so that company goals are achieved and regulatory requirements are met. There is one position open, with a closing date of 16 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and guide quality and patient safety initiatives aimed at achieving JCIA accreditation standards.
• Provide guidance to the business on quality and patient safety standards through relevant policies and procedures.
• Implement training programmes that educate staff on sound quality and patient safety measures.
• Schedule and run quality and patient safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
• Support the business with quality improvement metrics and analytics, including periodic reviews of the effectiveness of implemented measures.
• Monitor and manage the clinical and non-clinical risk management programme.

Required profile

• A formal qualification in Nursing or another related clinical discipline.
• A degree or diploma in Quality Improvement.
• At least 2 years of experience developing and leading quality projects or related initiatives in a hospital setting.
• Experience in hospital accreditation surveys (e.g. JCI, AHA, SRC, CARF).
• Experience in JAWDA data extraction and validation.
• Experience in Abu Dhabi licensing and regulatory audits (e.g. DOH, Tasneef).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Data analytics and methodologies.
• Development and implementation of training programmes.
• Knowledge of quality management and governance standards and best practice.
• Understanding of the UAE healthcare regulatory framework.
• English verbal and written communication.
