MEP Procurement Engineer

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced MEP Procurement Engineer with a strong background in the construction industry. The role covers sourcing, purchasing and coordinating the procurement of MEP materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance and cost-effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of MEP materials, equipment and services for construction projects.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers and vendors; obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers and the MEP team on material requirements.
• Review material specifications, BOQs, drawings and technical requirements before procurement.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs).
• Monitor delivery schedules, follow up on pending deliveries and resolve procurement issues.
• Maintain supplier and procurement records, quotations, POs and related documentation.
• Identify cost-effective procurement solutions without compromising quality and specifications.
• Coordinate with Accounts and Stores on invoices, deliveries and material receipts, and build strong relationships with MEP suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in MEP procurement.
• Mandatory experience in the construction industry.
• Experience sourcing materials for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire-fighting systems.
• Preferred: UAE/GCC construction and MEP procurement experience, and knowledge of the UAE MEP supplier market.
• Preferred: candidates available in the UAE and able to join immediately or within a short notice period.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of BOQs, technical specifications and material submittals.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement documentation.
• Experience with ERP/procurement software is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination and analytical skills.
