Merchant Acquisition Intern

About the role

Tamara, a fintech platform serving more than 25 million customers and over 130,000 partner merchants across the GCC, is looking for a Merchant Acquisition intern to join its In-store Operations team. The intern signs up new businesses and checks in-store marketing efforts at partner stores, working on the ground with new and existing merchants in a dynamic start-up environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential merchants in person, introducing the company's services and explaining the benefits of partnership.
• Build and nurture relationships with merchants, understanding their needs and positioning the company's offerings as valuable solutions.
• Conduct in-person product or service demonstrations and address merchant concerns to secure new partnerships.
• Gather market intelligence, including competitor activity and merchant feedback, such as visibility of in-store materials, and report it to support strategy and product development.
• Guide interested merchants through the application and onboarding process so they can start a long-term partnership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field.
• Strong Arabic and English communication, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
• Organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• UAE driver's license is mandatory.
