Midwife

About the role

Fakeeh Health, a healthcare group based in the UAE, is hiring a midwife in Dubai. The midwife provides 24/7 patient care to an assigned group of patients, day or night shift, within the framework of Fakeeh Care, accreditation standards and Ministry of Health requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing and midwifery care in line with professional standards and organizational policies.
• Care for the newborn immediately after birth and assist with post-partum care, including breastfeeding.
• Set up for deliveries and other procedures, including emergency C-sections, and assist with labor and delivery.
• Monitor and record symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, and document clinical information in the HIS.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Refer and coordinate patient discharge arrangements with the case manager.
• Supervise less skilled staff, students and interns, and mentor them within their scope of practice.
• Follow infection control, medication administration and controlled substance regulations, and handle complaints in line with Fakeeh Care policy.
• Take part in quality improvement, patient safety reviews, evidence-based practice and research, and recruitment and retention planning.

Required profile

• Diploma in Midwifery.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a midwife.
• License from the country of origin and a license to practice under the regional health regulator (e.g. SCFHS / DHA).
• BLS, ACLS and other LSTC courses as applicable.
