Mill Assistant – Production Support

About the role

The Mill Assistant supports finishing operations in a government‑run facility in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on short‑bar removal in the cold shear area and accurate tagging of finished materials to ensure safe handling, traceability and smooth material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with size/pass changes to optimise shift productivity.
• Maintain uninterrupted material flow on the cooling bed, preventing overlapping or bar blockage.
• Safely remove short bars from the cold shear area.
• Tag rebars and bundles with correct size, grade and heat‑number information.
• Separate tags to avoid mix‑ups and keep the work area compliant with 5S standards.
• Follow all safety, quality and HSE directives and support the shift supervisor as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar mill or production environment.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to work six days per week and follow shift instructions.

Required skills

• Gas cutting operation
