Motor Underwriter - UAE National

About the role

Orient Insurance PJSC is looking for a UAE national to join its motor underwriting team in Dubai. The successful candidate organises, analyses data and maintains systematic computerised records on premiums, ensuring efficient control of the company's underwriting. The role covers assessing and underwriting motor insurance applications, monitoring client risks and processing policy documents and service requests.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite motor insurance applications in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle day-to-day underwriting promptly, following prescribed guidelines and procedures.
• Monitor the progress of risk management, claims history and other relevant information to set coverage and premium rates.
• Scrutinise new submissions and analyse risk according to Underwriting Guidelines to support underwriting decisions.
• Process new and renewal policy documents, terms and conditions, endorsements and service requests accurately and deliver them to clients within the defined KPIs.
• Provide a high standard of customer experience to all business partners and clients.

Required profile

• A relevant university degree or general insurance qualification.
• Over 0-3 years of work experience in motor underwriting or similar responsibilities.
• Experience and sound technical knowledge of motor retail and fleet underwriting and operations, or a related insurance line.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and agreed turnaround times.

Required skills

• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
• Proactive, self-motivated, able to handle pressure and multiple tasks at once.
