Music Teacher

About the role

The Music Teacher will join Aspen Heights British School, an ambitious British International School on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing music lessons that inspire and motivate pupils to reach their full academic and artistic potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver music lessons with clear objectives, challenging tasks and high levels of interest.
• Set and monitor clear targets, building on prior progress and attainment.
• Identify and support SEN/EAL pupils within music classes.
• Maintain a structured, paced and motivating classroom environment.
• Use effective assessment methods to ensure coverage of the programme of study.
• Maintain high standards of work, homework and student output.
• Employ a variety of teaching methods and resources, including ICT tools, to match content and learning styles.
• Provide effective questioning, address errors and misconceptions promptly.
• Contribute to extra‑curricular music activities and subject leadership.

• Qualified educator with proven ability to deliver high‑quality teaching.
• Demonstrated leadership capacity and willingness to take on subject‑lead responsibilities.
• Initiative, empathy, proactivity and a personable, positive character.
• Commitment to inspiring, motivating and equipping pupils for independent progress.
