Music Teacher – Western Music (Key Stage 1/2)

About the role

The Westminster School in Dubai is seeking a qualified Music Teacher to deliver the Western Music curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2 starting August 2026. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing lessons that cater to a diverse range of learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Key Stage 1/2 music curriculum, maintaining up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons, creating resources that address different learning styles.
• Maintain records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessment data and teaching resources.
• Follow GEMS policies, procedures and codes of conduct at all times.
• Adapt teaching strategies for late‑entering students, ESL learners, low‑ability, gifted and talented pupils.
• Set, mark, assess and report on student progress, using assessment to inform instruction.
• Utilise media and technology effectively in the classroom.
• Promote student well‑being, cultural awareness and a love of learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of progress.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events and committees.
• Monitor student behaviour and implement strategies to encourage self‑discipline.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Music.
• Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent teaching qualification).
• Strong knowledge of the UK music curriculum for Key Stage 1/2.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
