Network Planning Manager – Electricity Sector

About the role

A leading semi-government utilities organization in the UAE is looking for an experienced Network Planning Manager for the electricity sector. The role leads the strategic planning, development and optimization of the electricity distribution network, ensuring reliability, capacity growth and long-term infrastructure planning in line with national energy objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop short-, medium- and long-term electricity network planning strategies.
• Conduct load forecasting, capacity analysis and demand growth modelling.
• Lead network expansion projects, reinforcements and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards, safety and technical codes.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, asset management and capital planning teams.
• Prepare technical reports, investment justifications and planning recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electricity network planning or power distribution.
• Experience in large utilities, infrastructure or energy sector organizations in the GCC is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in load flow studies.
• Network modelling tools and utility planning systems.
