Occupational Therapist – Pediatric Rehabilitation

About the role

The Occupational Therapist will join a multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation team at Provita International Medical Center in Abu Dhabi, delivering evidence‑based interventions to support children’s participation in self‑care, play, learning and mobility across home, school and community environments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, age‑appropriate OT assessments for children with cerebral palsy, autism, ADHD and developmental delays.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans with measurable functional goals.
• Provide interventions targeting fine motor, gross motor, visual‑motor integration, sensory processing and activities of daily living.
• Recommend and fabricate splints, seating systems, adaptive equipment and assistive technology as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, educators and families to ensure coordinated, family‑centered care.
• Observe children in educational and community settings to identify barriers and suggest environmental adaptations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy with pediatric focus.
• Current DOH licensure and professional registration in home country.
• Minimum 2 years OT experience, including at least 5 years in pediatric neurological rehabilitation.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standardized pediatric assessments (e.g., PEDI‑CAT, Sensory Profile 2, SPM‑2).
• Knowledge of Pediatric NDT/Bobath and Sensory Integration approaches.
• Experience in splinting, seating, positioning and assistive technology.
• Ability to work with Arabic‑speaking children and families.
