Open-Rank Faculty Position in Economics

About the role

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi invites applications for an open‑rank faculty position in Economics, based at the Zayed Military University campus. The role involves teaching undergraduate economics courses in English and contributing to research and university service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate economics lectures, tutorials and supervise student research projects.
• Engage in research activities within the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi for Innovation and Research Institute (SAFIR), leading independent projects and collaborations.
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, student advising and institutional events.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional proficiency in English (IELTS or equivalent is an asset).
• Demonstrated higher‑education teaching experience and ability to design undergraduate courses.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Advanced pedagogical skills and familiarity with educational technologies and online learning platforms (asset).
• Capacity to supervise and mentor students in research methods, project planning and academic writing.
