About the role

The Statistics and Data Science Area seeks faculty members at all ranks to advance statistical and probabilistic foundations of machine learning and data science. The role involves teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary research.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality instruction and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
• Develop and contribute to curriculum in statistics, data science, and AI.
• Conduct research in statistical learning theory, high‑dimensional statistics, causal inference, uncertainty quantification, fairness, and interpretability.
• Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, and research institutions on AI‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong research record with publications in statistics and machine learning.
• Ability to work at the intersection of statistics and AI, and to engage in interdisciplinary projects.

Required skills

• Expertise in statistical theory and methods.
• Experience with large‑scale data analysis and scalable inference techniques.
