Operations Manager – Materials Management

About the role

The Material Management Operations Manager leads strategic planning and execution of inventory across the Automotive Division, ensuring optimal stock levels, improved availability and efficient working capital use.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate OEM programs, reduce demand‑supply gaps and monitor vendor performance to achieve high fill rates and reduced lead times.
• Validate and approve order proposals, improve fill rates, reduce back‑orders and recover lost sales across all channels.
• Maintain balanced inventory levels, reduce excess and obsolete stock, and collaborate on preventive measures for ageing inventory.
• Optimize network stock at branch level, manage replenishments, returns and Vehicle Off Road (VOR) orders to minimise customer downtime.
• Continuously monitor inventory performance, demand fluctuations and sales trends, leading Syncron parameter refinement and corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate operational processing (ASN, logistics coordination, master data) and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coach and develop material planners, enforce compliance with policies, SOPs and regulations, and drive operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in supply chain or inventory operations.
• 1‑2 years of team management experience, preferably in automotive parts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Experience using BI tools and Syncron.
• Strong inventory forecasting, planning and analysis capabilities.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau.
