Operator, Shop-Explosive (Wireline Logging)

About the role

This role is responsible for safely and efficiently handling explosives and detonating devices during wireline logging operations. It ensures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Safely handle, transport and store explosives and detonating devices according to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare explosive charges and detonating systems for wellbore operations with accuracy and precision.
• Execute deployment and detonation of charges in line with operational plans and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the logging services team to integrate explosive operations with overall logging operations.
• Comply with UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
• Carry out on-the-job training to meet competency-based training programmes for UAE nationalisation.
• Maintain tools, safety gear and equipment, arrange repairs or replacements, and complete maintenance within assigned time standards.
• Support an HSE culture, keep the work area clean and tidy, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Collect field technical data, help prepare section progress reports and method statements, and initiate near-miss reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in explosives handling or a related field, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Certification or training in explosives handling and safety (e.g. Explosives Handler Certification) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with wireline logging operations and equipment is an advantage.
• Strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, teamwork, physical fitness and ability to work outdoors and offshore.
